How are they mixing up narcan with epi pen ??? This doesn't make sense! , what are they teaching the doctors in the U.S???
People dont realize how much pharmacists do and catch mistakes doctors make. Thank you! ❤
i come home from my 11hr pharmacy shift to watch your videos 😂
One time my pharmacist came to the window and asked if my doctor had talked to me about the possible drug interactions with the new medication he had prescribed. I was confused because he had not. Needless to say the pharmacist saved my life that day. I was not aware that the new medication had a different name and had caused me seizures in the past and could cause permanent heart damage when combined with one other medication I was taking. Now I ask my pharmacist a ton of questions on any new meds.
So glad I'm in a small town with a small local pharmacy and an amazing pharmacist.... he catches things all the time and has been a huge help navigating me through pill happy doctors and cancer treatment.
LMAO Humira is absolutely not a tablet, I remember my mom screaming bloody murder when my dad accidentally injected her in a less than ideal spot. The injectors/needles have apparently improved a lot over the years (or dad’s just gotten better at it), but Humira injections and the occasional full body yell remain core childhood memories
I have the best pharmacists at my local Walgreens. I let the corporate office know frequently, how great the entire staff is! You guys have such a hard job! I am sure grateful! I missed my local pharmacy, when the “big” retail chains came in. I have many issues from a rollover car accident, and my life changed in an instant. My pharmacy makes my life a little easier!
I can come up with excuses for the second two but the first one is absolutely terrifying. I’ve also had something like this happen. I was struggling with anxiety while going through a family crisis and reached out to my doctor. Instead of calling in Ativan, the doctor ordered Adderall. I’m so glad that I read the bottle and knew enough to know better before taking a pill.
As a patient AND a nurse I salute you! Thank you for watching out for us ❤
These are always entertaining and interesting. Thanks again.
This reminds me of how every pharmacist reacted every single month refusing to dispense my bedtime concerta without verbal confirmation from my prescriber when that script was absolutely written correctly for my condition. It was a nightmare every month.
viagra (sildenafil) can be prescribed for other uses (heart related) even for dogs
yall, I love pharmacists. this one lady at my local walgreens is always such a huge help, especially whenever my insurance decides ‘it’s a free country and we suddenly don’t wanna cover this medication you’ve taken for 7 years!’ 10/10 pharmacist
I remember a pharmacist going to give me my consult once, looking at the directions, getting a very puzzled look on her face and telling me she’d be right back. I have no idea what the problem was but I can only imagine it was something like this. 😂
There is a low dose Viagra type med for congenital heart kiddos that is prescribed btw.
I’m sorry but if a doctor thinks an epi pen is the same thing as narcan I hope the pharmacy hearing this calls the freaking medical board bc that is TERRIFYING
I’m in no medical field- I do have a dad that works in the er- but i damn well know the difference between narcan and an EpiPen!!
My fav: an old school family doctor sent a liquid antibiotic in for a child, but we immediately noticed the dose was way too high. Called the office and turns out the doctor had told the mom he was sending in 1 script and she needed to just split the dose in half for her 2 sick kids. The kids were different ages and sizes, and he did not give any specific, separate instructions for each child. Just “half”. He saw it as doing the family a favor because 1 prescription is cheaper than 2. Like cheaper maybe but definitely not safer or more effective.
My husband and my son have the same name and it is chaos. Thanks for watching out for us
