The themes of the last warbonds (riot suppression units, secret police death squads and now quasi-religious zealots with bomb vests) have spawned the theory that the war is going far worse for Super Earth than it is made to appear ingame, and they have to resort to more and more extreme measures.

Considering that said 4 teams of soldiers CAN complete the mission, they are elite. The idea is the same as a Helljumper and Spartan. They're specialized soldiers sent on suicide missions to turn the tide which is why sending a butt load of them is a lot more risky as you'd be wasting valuable resources if everything goes wrong. They aren't SEAF soldiers or Guardsman, they're closer to being a shock trooper like the Kasrkins

I’m not sure if someone in the comments mentioned it but around June when the bots arrived in force, the major order briefing mentions that preceding all the battles from that point were just ‘mere special military operations’ in reference to a recent military conflict. It may just be a part of your level 7 archive clumped with the allegories, but I think it drives the satire home for me.

I don't think the Yoghurtdivers are that strange, considering the American Ice Cream Delivery ship that supported D-Day. Okay it was really a giant floating fridge for all foods but it could produce 10 gallons of ice cream every seven minutes.

Helldivers are just the ingame paratrooper. Fun fact, paratroopers have a 20% survival rate for airborne operations. So its fairly accurate as an airborne simulation

I would love to see a part 2 in a year or so, when new lore is made by both the devs and the community. Honestly one of the only good live service games from the last five years. I love Helldivers :3

Although Helldivers are dispencable, a Helldiver is an elite citizen in Helldivers Lore. The population is much bigger and to be a Helldiver you have to be an elite war veteran but there are thousands like you. Except John Helldiver probably, he’s probably the best HD.

You should also consider that, according to the recent lore about the terminid research facility, the one that studies the gloom, they mentioned that the E-710 from these planets is more efficient than the regular one, like 10x, making it more appealing to develop technologies to travel those unreachable planets so we can take that resource and "travel even beyond the planets we already know", so technically we might see a map expansion, maybe we could reach Kepler Prime

The blue laser conspiracy theories can easily be debunked as shell-shocked Helldivers seeing their teammates' ricochets unexpectedly zoom across their visor as the tracers turn blue after bouncing off hard surfaces. Super Earth's Ministry of Intelligence would've been aware of any real squid espionage and reconnaissance operation ahead of the Illuminates' return.
