It makes sense. I do wish we got more of these simple yet adorable designs that made Pikachu, Eevee, and Jigglypuff so popular. A bunny with a flotation device sounds like something I would keep on my team just for the sake of it.

When the gen 3 leak of the water starter first came out, the first thing I thought of was that the design was reworked into Buizel because of the buoyancy theme. About time you caught on.

this is a pretty interesting theory. I think the fact that GameFreak hasnāt made any attempt to revive the bunny design could imply that they were satisfied with Buisel/Floatzel.

3:18 Side note: the tuber trainer class was introduced in the same games this beta water starter was planned for. You donāt see a lot of connections between the pokĆ©mon and the region itself in the early gens, but Hoenn did have a few pokĆ©mon that were tied to it being a warmer island region, like Tropius and Wingull, so it makes a lot of sense.

I miss the idea that the pokemon appeared in movie or series is the pokemon from the next region. Buizel, munhlax, zorua, lucario, etc.

Gen 2 had Wooper, a Water/Ground type axolotl. Gen 3 had the Mudkip line, who are also Water/Ground type axolotls (except Mudkip.) Game Freak aren't above using the same ideas 2 generations in a row.
