I’ve spent 9k in cards and have profited about 44k in about a year and a half. It’s always smart to buy rookies who have a large upside, send it off to PSA or BGS at the cheapest rate and get it back months later then either sell or hold.

Back in my youth, cards that were part of sets/groups of cards were big. Collectors went to conventions to try to complete their sets. Maybe that still applies nowadays. BK
