I think Sam is just talking about monopolies. The Internet has created monopolies. And on a long enough time scale, even his example of cars can be a monopoly. Just because one company hasn’t bought all the car companies yet, doesn’t mean it will eventually be monopoly

Is it just that the comparison of companies that make physical things like cars has a very well defined boundary compared to say the internet where it is a mirror for humans where it has a less defined boundary?
