I was streaming the DRfL album for the first time on my way to a lil spring break shindig with my guys about a week or so after the album dropped. I was struggling to pass my last semester's classes and was so close to finishing them but was so anxious I was going to fail and have to take another semester- and I was taking way too many hours, so I couldn't get a job in the meantime and lord knows my family wasn't going to be able to afford for me to take another semester. But when this song came on in the hotel room overlooking the beach and I heard it for the first time, hearing the chorus, being with my guys who i'd die for, feeling Juice's energy throughout the whole thing, it all together sorta slapped me across the face and reminded me that i wasn't alone. It's not like Juice wrote the song to be about stress and anxiety and expectations but hearing him strain his voice about 'let's see if you a rider for real' made me feel like he was calling at me to look deep inside myself and grind my ass off to finish everything strong and enjoy the moment. So that's what I did. I played this song well over 300 times that year and still play it multiple times a week even now. I passed all those classes with flying colors, I graduated and got my degree, and now I'm working my dream job. But idk if i ever would have gotten there if this little song from juice hadn't reminded me how to relax, how to enjoy life and how to grit your teeth and keep going. If you're reading this, juice wrote records like this one because he loved music first and foremost but also because he cared about us in a very deep way. I know for a fact that he knew songs like this would impact us heavily, and they do. Honor him by doing your best. Whatever you're going through, I promise you that you can do it. You are NEVER alone.
