I don't understand why anyone is surprised by ANY of this. CR just got caught a few months ago stealing fan mail for, funnily enough, voice actors. Like, why people continue supporting the platform is beyond me.

This is 0% a shock. If anyone has been using their english translation captions, it it VERY obviously not done by a human translator... Official or fan wise

The only things that a translator/localizer can/should change are some brand names to a generic product or local idioms to those that can be understood by a recipient

You can’t hold back AI, but I refuse to use it. Most of the AI just proves to me that people are lazy. You can’t do it yourself? You can’t use your brain? You cant gain experience and learn something on your own? You literally can’t stop and read a book then do your own work? It’s such a lazy thing to do and I think humans become more and more stupid as it’s shoved in our face and destroys resources. I mean even the AI knows it, they already have AI getting kids to end themselves😅

Localizers change the meaning of the original dialog. So I don't blame them for replacing them with AI.

Yeah I'm not gonna pretend i don't know why CR is ditching localizers. Give VAs their voice replication protection but if you're going to fuck with artists work so you can insert your own ideological points, get bent and get replaced. Not sorry.

Localizing and Directly translating are two different things, a direct translation doesn’t mean that it’s a good localization or translation.

I’m gonna be 100% real with you, I’d rather have the A.I. because at least it’ll more accurately translate than the localizers that insert weird politics or change words and meanings to fit some narrative that has nothing to do with the anime or manga.

1:39 If anyone is interested what the translation is to “Wenn ich die Welt von hier an weiter genießen kann” (It’s German by the way) In my German head it sounds grammatically incorrect but I’m not sure. Maybe it is, maybe not. Anyway it means something like “If I can keep enjoying the world from this point forward” Edit: Okay I’ve analysed it a bit and I’m like 70% sure that it’s actually grammatically incorrect 😂
