Your tips are so true. Concert photos are my hobby and I'm friends with a local band. Now I see the stress of professionals. Of course, my friends want to see the first photos from the gig at breakfast and link them immediately on their facebook fanpage and on their website. Choosing 30 photos from 600 and editing them to a certain quality standard is exhausting. But the feedback is phenomenal. The bass player is himself a well-known and very good professional photographer. The best compliment for me is when he says, 'I don't need to worry about good photos today because you're here!'
Fantastic tips Boston! Very helpful!
Yep, exactly what she said. I might be good at fashion/catalog - but I would suck so bad if I tried to shoot a concert. You nailed it by saying work for free, because you cant expect payment for no experience. -- Keep up the great work!
Great vid as usual! Love the tips!
I’m excited to find your channel. ✌️❤️🤘📸
My first national band pit experience will be of The Distrillers!! I amped and nervous about my photo session
Thankyou for the very informative video. At the moment, I'm photographing mostly local bands at small venues and hoping to one day shoot big name artists with a media pass (if I get lucky.) I currently have a portfolio of music photography on Flickr. Would Flickr be a good look or would it be better to have my own website to showcase my work?
Number 1 for me: make sure you g o to the toilet before stepping in 🙈. Question, which lenses (focus ranges) you use most?
Me a storm photographer reaching out to publications: Hi here's a storm! I can photo. Here's my twitter! Can I haz pass? Luckily, it worked lol, but I was lucky.
Don't forget ear plugs!
Hey, I am just starting out at concert photography. I want to build up my portfolio but I live in an area without any gigs and I also don´t have friends in the music business. It is much harder for me to build a portfolio because I have no places to go to for practice and buiding one. Do you have any tips what I could do in that case? :)
