Great video! I have the Broadcast G2 and used it in so many different situations. It performs like a champ. I don’t know any other camera that is nearly as diverse. I have used it on cinema shoots and in multi camera concerts, corporate shoots, run and gun doc, sit down interviews, commercials. The Broadcast G2 just shows up and kicks ass. I am most amazed at how it looks shooting cinema content in Blackmagic RAW. If you know how to light a scene this camera will make you happy you chose it. It’s form factor and ease of use menus and Blackmagic always updating is incredible. The EVF is one of the best I’ve ever used. I have shot on ALL the big name cameras and I would go to bat for this camera every time! If you can’t make the footage from the Blackmagic Broadcast G2 look good I’m telling you it’s not the camera.

@theryanthomas

Unreal camera and phenomenal video as always. Happy new year mate. On your way to 100K and beyond, this year!

@melancholy.-Tunes

when I heard affordable I thought you meant like £500 😂(vid looks great btw)

@1903Optics

Lighting at the beginning so good.

@MrIanWebb

I own this camera, bought it right when it was announced; such a powerhouse. Glad to see someone else talking about it.

@nerolemon

I've been planning on buying this camera for months, and your last video on it is one of the only ones out about the g2. I am so glad I have another video to watch on repeat 😎

@shueibdahirmotionpictures

The broadcast g2 seems to be equipped with a slightly modified bmpcc 6k sensor which was the imx571 if memory serves me right. Both cameras are a perfect A/B cam setup together

I’ve mostly used canon cameras and noticed that their native white balance (daylight) is at about 5000k minus - and +100 to both directions. Canon sensors are a lot more sensitive to reds than sonys.

Sony sensors native white balance is at 5500 - and +100

Really enjoyed the video 🤞🏽

@JoshSher_

Can’t wait for the URSA 12k OLPFs flooding the second hand market at maybe 3k or so…
I think it’s gonna be such a sweetspot, cause its price will decrease because it’s not FF, but the sensor quality is still ridiculously good 🤯 (probably because of it’s unique pattern, there’s just something special to me about the image of it, it looks so natural).

Great video btw! It’s refreshing to see a YouTuber do such a creative lighting setup for talking into the camera, instead of the usual super clean YouTube studio room RGB look…👌

@clearmotionfilms

Made so much money with the Ursa Mini Pro g2's image is just under Alexa mini it's just too heavy in the doc world but it looks so good!!!! I own 3 of them for my commercial work and Now im running 3 Sony Fx6's for doc work.

@ChasityHodge-i3e

a 4000 dollar price tag is probably why we arent seeing much content on this camera lol but love your content creation style and editing

@Blackbeltpaddler

Just Love your videos brother 👏👏 the broadcast G2 is the camera I’m looking for acquire to force me to learn manual focus …! Keep posting 💪🙏

@hautehussey

You might want to think about a different color background in the future. That peach toned wall skews the tones and ability to see some of the subtleties I think.

@nestorarranz3179

i think a cinema camera now more than ever just means made to shoot cinema, meaning for working in a traditional cinema set. Video outputs matter way more than audio, it has to have a more robust codec than h264/h264, and more reliable media than an sd, it has to be big enough so that up to 3 people can be working on it / with it at the same time and so that shots on a shoulder rig comes off beautifully right out of camera, comfortable solutions for viewing what youre filming at any (or almost any) angle or situation (viewfinders are a must because of this).
And maybe there's a few more things that make it a "cinema" camera, but if your sets dont look like hollywood sets who cares about all that, image quality is pretty good with whatever decent camera you choose so choose the one that fits your set and budget. Picking an alexa classic like jake mentioned in the video being a solo shooter is a terrible idea, its a huge heavy camera, the same way that picking a camera that only has a micro hdmi and trying to get signal to 5 monitors without delay is not a great idea

@TheD7aim

Man, this content is like you’re reading your mind. I’ve always been searching about this specific camera.

By the way, what are you using? Your audio sounds crisp and clear

@footballfrequency7979

I literally started this video while eating a costco hot dog myself.

@Rukiasriot1

I need to see some ursa 12k love the s35 version

@chrisw443

Broadcast g2 is the best modern camera by far. B4 is a universal mount with half a century of options alongside the EF mount.

@Framesbyfrisby

I hate this damn camera!
But damn, you’re right about the image ! Especially because I’m doing a lot more documentary work than I ever thought!

Thanks for convincing me to re-buy it. Too late already in the cart check out. 😂
Love your videos can’t wait to see more !

It’s funny because I was going to do my first YouTube video on XH2S and how I don’t think a lot of filmmakers are using it like me. Besides like two I see.

@lmedin84

Fantastic video as expected. Have you gotten your hands on a Pyxis yet? Would love to see a video on that camera.

@essexii

I have used this camera a bunch shooting meetings and even as an event main head shot camera going into a switcher. Being able to put a broadcast zoom lens on the camera and have real zoom lens controls is super awesome at this price point. Having BNC connectors bridges it further into the video world. For sporting events this camera, either handheld or on sticks is like a network broadcast camera. The fact that users can set it with gain control or ISO control is another way it straddles a line few cameras do. I find the dual menus (Menu button and touch screen) bothersome but at times convenient. Or I love them but hate them. Most of the menus are intuitive after spending a little time with the camera. Lots of functions to be aware about and lots of ways to screw yourself over unintentionally. Image wise, I am not overly impressed with the camera, it reacts more like a broadcast video camera and less like a DSLR or mirrorless camera. The eyepiece viewfinder is very good, the flip out LCD is average. Surprised more news gathering organizations are not using this camera. Very easy to use in an ENG setting, easy to put a line or mic feed in camera and easy to send a clean feed out. Gain or ISO can be cranked but this camera needs light and I am not a fan of BM color science.

Cameras are tools, and this camera is like a Leatherman multi tool. It does a lot and has a ton of flexibility, but is a master of none. If I were doing a lot of multi-cam work, I would own a few of these cameras. For the bulk of my work in corporate or documentary style I prefer Sony mirrorless or cinema line cameras. Ranking camera brands I have used would be 1.Sony, 2. Canon, (very close together) 3. Panasonic and 4. Black Magic (also very close together).
