[TRIP REPORT] Paris To Nice By SNCF Night Train In Private First Class Couchette

The French night train is making a significant comeback in recent years! SNCF has revamp up the image of overnight train travel by modernising their old Intercités de Nuit fleet and with great succes. At its lowest point in 2017 the French night train network consisted of just 3 lines, but since 2021 old connections have been reintroduced and night trains from Paris are running again to Tarbes and Nice.

In this trip report we travel from Paris to the beautiful French riviera in a newly renovated first class couchette car. Boarding the train at night in Paris and waking up with views of the Mediterranean Sea is just simply magnificant! This is absolutely the best way to travel from Paris to Nice, despite the lack of a sleeper car or meal service onboard. The morning view from the train will definitely make up for it!
