The folk/contemporary worship version of our hymn, written by David LaMotte and arranged by Zach Light-Wells, creates a more modern sound while also echoing the sounds of Appalachia. Raised in the Carolinas, Zach Light-Wells merges the music of Appalachia with the sounds of sanctuaries, concert halls, and the urban south. Zach lives in Dallas, Texas, where he is the Director of Music at First Presbyterian Church Dallas. Zach’s varied background and experiences allow for a unique blend of traditional hymns, familiar melodies, and modern folk music—an emerging trend in reformed worship traditions.
