Clinisys (US) AI in the lab of the future is multimodal | Clinisys Customer Summit

Michael Rivers, Vice President of Digital Pathology at Roche Tissue Diagnostics, sat down with Clinisys to discuss the how artificial intelligence (AI) will be multimodal in the laboratory of the future. Combining data that is very near-patient, like from patient monitoring devices and wearables, with data from traditional, clinical laboratory tests, AI will be able to create and present to clinicians the most complete and accurate picture of the patient’s health possible.

The opportunity is in combining laboratory information system (LIS) or laboratory information management systems (LIMS) data with genetic, electronic health record, and also IoT monitoring wearables data for use by pathologists, oncologists, and clinicians to improve cancer diagnosis and care for patients.

Mr. Rivers, an expert in digital pathology and imaging solutions, was filmed onsite at the Clinisys Customer Summit, held March 13 to 16, 2023 in Frisco, Texas, where Clinisys leaders, keynote speakers and industry experts discussed the convergence of laboratory informatics across clinical and environmental disciplines and projected the pathways necessary toward the lab of the future.
