3 traditional Cornish recordings of "The First Nowell" (1929-35)

0:00 Tom Miners
0:31 Bessie Wallace
1:05 "Second Cornish Singer"

This is a short video consisting of three recordings of "The First Nowell (Noel)" recorded in the same part of Cornwall between 1929 and 1935 by James Madison Carpenter. The recordings were extremely poor quality, but I managed to restore them all to some extent. This is the precursor to a long video on the history of Christmas carols, which will use one of these recordings.

Here are links to the original versions:

Note: The man listed as "Second Cornish Singer" may be called Samuel Heather, who (like Tom Miners) came from Camborne (pictured).
