Doon Po sa Amin is a popular tagalog folk song about four jolly beggars and an old woman who cooks fire in a paper stove. The song may sometimes be used as a metaphor that things aren't always as they seem to be.
Tagalog lyrics: English lyrics:
Doon po sa amin, In our town of
Bayan ng San Roque San Roque
May nagkatuwaan Four beggars were
Apat na pulubi Having some fun
Nagsayaw ang pilay, The crippled man danced,
Umawit ang pipi, The mute sang
Nanood ang bulag, The blind man watched,
Nakinig ang bingi. The deaf man listened.
Doon po sa amin, In our town of
Bayan ng Malabon Malabon
May isang matandang There's an old woman
Nagsaing ng apoy Whose fire boiled
Palayok ay papel, In a paper pot
Papel pati tungtong On a paper stove
Tubig na malamig For fuel he used
