You're damaging your cards—and you might not even realize it.

🚨 You're damaging your cards—and you might not even realize it.

Whether it’s a $5 rookie or a grail-level auto, how you sleeve and case your cards matters. Here’s a proper method for using magnetic holders (aka mags) without destroying your hits:

🔹 Start with a penny sleeve
This thin plastic sleeve acts as a buffer—protecting your card from surface scratches, dust, and grime. Never put raw cards directly into a mag.

🔹 Use a flat, clean surface
Keep your mag flat on a table while inserting. Holding it in-hand leads to bent corners and sliding damage.

🔹 Let gravity do the work
Instead of pushing the card in, guide it gently. Pushing can cause edge dings, especially on high-gloss or foil cards.

🔹 Center it, then snap it
Once the card settles securely, close the magnetic case and listen for that satisfying snap. That’s the sound of a well-protected card.

💡 Pro tip: If your card is extra valuable or thick, look for sleeve-friendly mags and use the correct pt size.
