The beginning of the end of WW2 sweet rationing

Not short and not sweet, wartime rationing of sweets and chocolate began on 26th July 1942.

This footage shows the day in 1949 when the first attempt to ration sweets was made.

Unsurprisingly demand was so high that just 4 months later they were rationed again. Until 1953!
