I believe that Naruto is the next Sage of the six paths, it's only a matter of time. :D This theory is the new one, besides the one with Itachi's sharingan.
Current Manga chapter: 590
Current Anime episode: 267

NOTE: How was Namikaze-clan related to the Uchiha?
Answer: Speed can be enhanced by concentrating chakra or by achieving a new kind of chakra. For example the Uchiha: after their Sharingan are activated, they can see every move of their enemies and they themselves can move even faster to dodge and to counterattack. (this happens during the fight at the valley of the end between Sasuke and Naruto.)
