Campos do Jordão is a Brazilian municipality located in the interior of the state of São Paulo, more precisely in Serra da Mantiqueira. It is part of the newly created Metropolitan Region of Vale do Paraíba and Litoral Norte, sub-region 2 of Taubaté.
The city is at an altitude of 1,628 meters, being therefore the highest Brazilian municipality, considering the altitude of the headquarters. Its estimated population for 2021 was 52,713 inhabitants. 183 kilometers away from the city of São Paulo, its main access routes are the Floriano Rodrigues Pinheiro Highway and the Campos do Jordão Railroad.
Campos do Jordão is called "Brazilian Switzerland", as a marketing strategy, for its late architecture based on European constructions and for its colder climate than the Brazilian average. Therefore, the city receives more tourists, both national and international, during the winter season, especially in the month of July.
The best time to travel to Campos do Jordão, that is, the high season of the city of São Paulo, is between May and August, as the cold weather is more established between autumn and winter.
